Oakville Kia is committed to promoting the latest and greatest in educational news throughout the world. We want to highlight teachers that are making a difference in students’ lives, take a look at trends developing both in this country and in others, and continue pushing forward to make sure that we are teaching the best lessons that we can to the next generation. Our articles and blogs will teach you about arenas that you never thought about before.
Kia Rodriguez was born right here in Oakville and was never a very good student during her formative years. She had trouble engaging in class and never felt like she fit in with the people around her. After years of feeling like an outsider, she went to college and found a community that supported her learning process in a way that she had never experienced before. She decided that she would get into teaching after that because she wanted to make sure that no student ever felt that same shame that she did ever again. After years of teaching and networking with other teachers that had similar sensibilities, Kia started this blog to help spread her educational philosophy. Years later, the archive is filled with articles directly from her and her team of colleagues.
What began as a humble little blog has expanded and become so much more. Kia’s solo endeavor is now much larger and we have teachers across the country providing articles and other resources to help improve your teaching techniques and even expose you to new opportunities to make money, like through new tutoring options. Kia first realized how far her blog reached at a teaching conference she was invited to. Her panel was filled like it was a Marvel movie at Hall H at Comic Con. She is a rock star in teaching and was flattered by the support. The connections she made there started the first wave of teachers on the team and we have been growing ever since to provide more diverse voices.
“When I first met Kia, I was stunned by her passion. I think the thing that comes first and foremost whenever you read any of her writing is that she is absolutely committed to her goals of improving teaching practices through continued teaching education. She is an absolute rockstar and I highly recommend reading some of her work, if not all.”
“I have been looking for the right community of teachers for a while now to discuss the stuff I want to talk about in education. I was considering starting my own blog, but was overjoyed when I found this site that fits so many of the things that I believe and gets into so much more.”
“There are few places talking about the topics I am interested in as much as Oakville Kia. I bookmarked this page the first time I went on because I got so much insightful information out of it. I constantly post the updates on social media and will continue to sing praises for Kia.”
